Annual Adult Appreciation Dinner

Meet and Greet with Fr. Jacob Gordon

Sunday, February 10th 2019

This year’s appreciation dinner will also serve as a Meet and Greet with Fr. Jacob Gordon. All adult members of our parish are invited to join together for a chance to relax, socialize, and share our time together.  This is an excellent opportunity to get to know other members of our parish as well as Fr. Jacob.  If you are a newer member of our parish or have never attended the dinner, we would very much enjoy getting to know you as well!

The occasion is a casual atmosphere in the church basement with appetizers and cocktails served at 5:00 pm and dinner at 6:00 pm.  Please plan on bringing a dish to share and the meat for dinner will be provided by St. Mike’s.

There are sign-up sheets located at both church entrances.  Please sign up if you plan to attend, this will help us determine the amount of meat to provide for the dinner.

Hope to see you there!!

Snow Removal

A Sign-Up sheet is in the back of church. If you are available and willing, your efforts would be greatly appreciated!

More than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began

with a simple prayer from a single youth group:

“Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl

football game, help us be mindful of

those without a bowl of soup to eat.”

Since that day, more than $100 million has been raised for local charities

across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful

movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into

the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.

Through this mission, young people learn what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world – as they collect food, raise money and volunteer to work in charities that provide shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and compassion to those in need.

Be part of this movement that is sharing God’s love with those in need.

Please give generously on Super Bowl Weekend. Every dollar and can of soup donated goes to

The Catholic Food Panty

Our next N W Men's Fellowship Breakfast will be Saturday Feb.9 at St John's Catholic Church, 510 Jackson Ave., Defiance.  We are very excited to have Victor Pham a Defiance resident and owner of V.I.P. nails, to share with us about how God has watched over and protected him even in times when he wasn't open to his love. Victor was born in South Vietnam, at the end of the war he escaped on a fishing boat to a refugee camp for three years and as a teenager he was sponsored to come to the United States. It's a fantastic story of how he was influenced by the drugs and gang violence that he was exposed to as he grew up in California. Today he recognizes how God protected him and has a special purpose / meaning for him and for each of us. This is a great sharing for the whole family to hear, so join us for a great breakfast and fellowship. Men/women of all Faiths / Denominations, and families are invited to this ecumenical effort to share Christ brother/sisterhood with each other. Freewill offering asked -- coffee/fellowship: 7:30am -- breakfast/speaker: 8:00am -- info call: George Westrick or email: grwestrick@gmail.com

‘Come and See’ Event Offers Catholic Women

Opportunity to Discern Dominican Life

The Adrian Dominican Sisters invite Catholic women, ages 25-35, to “come and see” what life as an Adrian Dominican Sister could be like for them. A weekend gathering, “A Time to Discern: Come and See for Yourself,” is offered at Weber Retreat and Conference Center the weekend of March 1-3, 2019 from dinner at 5:00 p.m. on Friday through the noon meal on Sunday. Participants have the opportunity to meet other women who are discerning God’s call in their lives, celebrate Sunday Liturgy with the Sisters, tour the Motherhouse campus, and engage in conversation with the Sisters. The weekend also allows for time for prayer, reflection, silence, sharing, and fun while participants discern God’s call in their lives and how they can discover that call.

The weekend is free of charge – you are our guests. Please register online at http://www.adriandominicans.org/BecomeaSister/ComeandSee.aspx.

Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian, Michigan. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to Weber Center.
