“AROUND OUR PARISH” Dear Parishioners of St. Isidore and St. Michael
The Faith in Our Future Parish Center team met recently and is pleased to announce that we are pursuing final drawings from an architect. Once finalized, these will go to the Diocese for review and approval. After approval is received, we will be ready to obtain bids for construction. The team, along with the full support of Father Joe, is very excited to make this long awaited dream a reality. Monetary donations are still being accepted. Be sure to check out the thermometer near the church entrance to see the progress toward our fundraising goal. Thank you to all who have supported this project. More updates will be shared as the next steps in the process are completed.
Path Center Donations
The Path Center clients are in need of gently used or new bath towels and washcloths. We would also like to collect personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, Tampax or sanitary pads) to go along with the towels. Donated items can be placed on the table in the north entrance by February 14th. If you would prefer to send the Path Center a cash donation, their address is 1939 E 2nd St, Defiance, OH 43512. Christmas Book
You will find the book "Signs of Life" by Scott Hahn at the entrances of the church. Please take a copy for your household as a gift from the St. Michael's Parish Council. Merry Christmas from St. Michael's Catholic Church!

Upcoming Youth Events and Dates Vacation Bible School Planning for Vacation Bible School is underway. Handouts will be sent home with all CCD students 1st through 4th grade. Pre-K/Kindergarten handouts, as well as additional handouts for anyone with family/grandchildren who would like to attend, will be at the entrances of church. Please kindly respond by February 15th so we can gauge space and supplies as this will be our first VBS in several years. Questions/concerns or if you would like to volunteer, please contact: Julie McCann (dulingjl@gmail.com) Religious Easter Egg Hunt A religious egg hunt for ages Pre-K through 4th grade is being scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Holy Saturday, April 3rd. Saint Michael Easter Cookie Fundraiser
Live Stations of the Cross Since we were unable to do our traditional Christmas Program this year, we are looking to start a Living Stations of the Cross with our youth. Our hope is that this will bring the stations to life and allow us to truly appreciate the Easter Season. This will take place on Good Friday. We are looking for VOLUNTEERS to help us with the planning and execution!!!! CCD Tuition Payments Tuition payments for children in Religious Education are $25 per child (up to 3 children). The 4th child and beyond are free. Please make checks payable to St. Michael’s Catholic Church and place your check in an envelope clearly marked with the name of your child(ren) and grade(s). You may give the envelope to your child’s teacher or place it in the collection basket at the back of church. Thanks to all who have paid so far!
Remind App Reminder
This is a gentle reminder to parents to sign up for the Remind notifications. This app will be used to communicate any changes regarding updates, closings, class schedules, etc. Parents may also use the app to communicate with their child’s catechist. ATTENTION SENIORS:
Applications for the Lisa R. Yoder Memorial Scholarship are available on St. Michael’s website. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 2, 2021.
Lisa Yoder encouraged higher education. This fund, established through a trust in her name and maintained by the Defiance Area Foundation, is in memory of Lisa.

2021 Lenten Mission Please join us for the 2021 Lenten Mission with Fr. Adrian Burke from St. Meinrad Archabbey. He will be discussing "Christ in the Chaos" on February 28th, March 1st and March 2nd from 7:00-8:30 pm. This will be an online streamed event but there will be options to watch at both the St. Michael's Ridge and St. Isidore - Marysdale locations as well as the ability to watch from home. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
