There will be no Bible study this Sunday, March 4th due to our

Parish Mission. The Bible studies will resume on Sunday, March 11th.

To review the fast and abstinence rules, they are as follows: Complete abstinence from meat - Ash Wednesday & ALL Fridays of Lent.  Days of fasting are: Ash Wednesday & Good Friday.  The law of abstinence applies to all Catholics 14 years and older; the law of fasting binds Catholics 18 years old up to their 59th birthday (Canons 97 & 1252)

Deacon Scott Graham has been assisting Fr Bob since his ordination to the permanent diaconate at the Toledo Cathedral on September 16.  Among the duties of a permanent deacon are/or can be, visiting the sick, giving
homilies, counseling individuals, working on committees or parish council, etc.  Deacons can baptize, witness marriages as well as distribute Communion and other important functions.

With that, there are things the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Eucharist, Lectors and Altar Servers should know.
Deacon Graham will not always be at St. Michael's on all weekend Masses. When he is assisting Fr Bob, he will:
*Join the Altar Servers and Fr Bob in processing to the altar, at the
beginning of Mass, with the Book of the Gospels.
*He will also read the petitions. This difference pertains to the Lectors, only, when Deacon Graham is
   ministering at Mass here.

The difference for Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist will be that, after distributing they will take

their vessels to the Deacon at the altar, rather than to the credence table.

When the music for offertory starts, the altar servers should bring the book (Sacramentary) (from their pew)

to the altar and then bring all the vessels to the deacon including the chalice and the purificators (linens).
Altar Servers (after Communion) should bring the deacon the water and remove vessels as they're purified.

All of you are doing well and it may take time to get into a routine since Deacon Scott is not here at St. Michael

every weekend.  If you have any questions, you can ask Deacon Scott, Chris or Karen Newton.

We are happy to have permanent Deacon Scott Graham at our celebration of Holy Mass and wish him many

good years of service to God and His people.
As always, I know you will do an excellent job!! Thanks from Karen!

“Looking for someone (or “a special person”), to take over and run the Annual Spring Craft Show.

I stepped in temporarily as a chairman and it has now been over 5 years!

My schedule at this time of year has become very busy and I need to look for a replacement.

There is an awesome support team in place to help with the kitchen, bake sale and activities of the day!

I am willing to spend time with anyone who feels the calling to support this great fundraiser for the Altar & Rosary Society.

Please give this your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely, Sandy Wagner

A Presentation From Mary and Victor Juarez

On Sunday, March 18th after Mass, our Religious Education classes grades

7-12 will be attending a presentation hosted by Mary and Victor Juarez, founders of “Drugs Awareness for Youth”, a faith based counseling and awareness ministry. Mary and Victor have experienced the tragedy of drugs and the effects of the pain and loss in their immediate family. They are on a God sent mission to share the emotional story to expose the consequences of addiction and to show that everyone is affected by this epidemic. They have dedicated themselves to counseling, support groups, and witnessing to youth.

All parents of students in our grades 7-12 classes are encouraged to attend along with any members of our parish who are interested.
