Good Friday Collection: Pope Francis has asked our parishes to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. Your support helps the church minister in parishes, provide schools and offer religious education. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection also helps to preserve the sacred shrines. The wars, unrest and instability have been especially hard on Christians. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees. When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you become an instrument of peace and join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be generous! For more information about Christians in the Holy Land, visit www.myfranciscan.org/good-friday

“Looking for someone (or “a special person”), to take over and run the Annual Spring Craft Show.
I stepped in temporarily as a chairman and it has now been over 5 years!
My schedule at this time of year has become very busy and I need to look for a replacement.
There is an awesome support team in place to help with the kitchen, bake sale and activities of the day!
I am willing to spend time with anyone who feels the calling to support this great fundraiser for the Altar & Rosary Society.
Please give this your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely, Sandy Wagner

A Presentation From Mary and Victor Juarez
On Sunday, March 18th after Mass, our Religious Education classes grades

Mary and Victor have experienced the tragedy of drugs and the effects of the pain and loss in their immediate family. They are on a God sent mission to share the emotional story to expose the consequences of addiction and to show that everyone is affected by this epidemic. They have dedicated themselves to counseling, support groups, and witnessing to youth.
All parents of students in our grades 7-12 classes are encouraged to attend along with any members of our parish who are interested.

DIVORCED & SEPARATED—So many are hurting from the pain of divorce. Separation was never a part of God’s plan. There are many too who don’t understand their place in the Church after a divorce. A team has come together to help these people, to bring together a community of people to help one another. It doesn’t matter your age, how long you were married, how long since your divorce, if you’re married again, or even if you’re not Catholic… You are welcome! The team will be going around to a few of the parishes in our area to talk to people after Masses. Then all are invited for a one-day Retreat on Sat., April 21, at St. Michael, Hicksville. Our goal is God’s Healing and community. Contact Deacon Rod at 419-542-6473 or email@example.com for more information. You can go to https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bEY5B-6PN0y-DW3ZGv_KUip6LRPJtFusUp7mJBJGkJI to fill in the form to get registered for the retreat. The cost of the Retreat is a free will donation.
Please spread the word to any divorced or separated people you may know.
Also, we are recruiting Table Leaders for the Retreat—if you would like to help at the Retreat, please register and indicate so on your registration.
This is a Catholic program, SO ALL ARE WELCOME!

Our next and last N.W.O. Men’s Fellowship Breakfast for this season will be Saturday, March 24th at St. John’s Catholic Church, defiance. This is our annual tribute to the veterans in our community. We are much honored to have James Gillis, a veteran of the Korean War. Jim was a Corporal 1st Division of the U.S. Marine Core, and involved in the campaign of Chosen Reservoir where they drove back the North Koreans to the China border and rescued thousands of Korean people to freedom. He recently was invited to return to South Korea where he received a special recognition from the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in for his valor. In 1976, Jim and his family moved to Defiance where he became a prominent business man, volunteering in many community services, and extremely involved in many Ministries at St. John’s church. He has been a great servant, not only to our country but to our community as well. We want to personally invite all veterans, their families and friends to come and be recognized for their services. Also, we invite all men and women and their families of all Faiths and denominations to come and join us in fellowship to share in the brother/sisterhood sharing in the love of Jesus Christ.
Coffee/fellowship: 7:30 am – Breakfast/speaker: 8:00 am. For more information call George Westrick 419-784-3975 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
