There is an envelope in your offering packet which is marked, “Chicken Donation”. This is to help defray the cost for our festival dinner. If you don’t use the envelope, you can simply mark an envelope as “Festival Chicken” and sign your name to it to receive credit. Parishioners are asked to donate what you can, the suggested amount is $12.00, but any amount is greatly appreciated!!
Also, please pick up your raffle tickets that are located in the back of church if you haven’t already.
There will be parking for festival workers in the grass behind the barn.
Thanks, The Festival Committee
St. Michael’s Ridge Festival
Sunday August 12, 2018
The planning for this year’s festival is well underway and we would like to remind our parish community of some of the upcoming items prior to the day of the festival which is 7 short weeks away.
**Weekend of July 1st we will start collecting the donations for chicken. There is a predesignated envelope in your box of collection envelopes for this. If you do not have collection envelopes just put it an envelope marking the outside with festival chicken donation. These donations are greatly appreciated as they help to offset the cost of the wonderful meal we serve the day of the festival.
**Once again, we will have the Chinese Raffle. Any parishioner that would like to put together a donation basket for this we are asking that you contact Joan McBride (419-428-4773) or any of the other festival committee members by August 5th so we can plan to have enough space for each of the donations. The last 2 years we have incorporated this raffle into the festival and it has proven to be a great way to raise additional funds for the church. **The festival committee cannot wait to see all the creative basket ideas.
**Don’t forget to mark your calendars for August 12 as it takes the entire parish community for a successful Festival.
**Thanks in advance from the Festival Committee

Retreat Focuses on Mary as Model of Faith
Mary, the Mother of Jesus and a woman of faith, lived in dangerous times in a small country occupied by the Roman Empire. She has much to say to us, Catholics and Protestants, as we deal with the dangers and darkness of our time.
“Mary: Model of Faith for Contemporary Times,” offers participants the opportunity to explore who Mary is for them in our contemporary world. The retreat begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, August 24, and ends at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25. Sister Joan Delaplane, OP – a preacher, retreat director, and spiritual director – presents the material on Mary and gives retreatants opportunities to pray together, share with one another, and spend quiet time in reflection.
The cost, including meals and snacks, is $45 for commuters, $65 per person for double occupancy, and $85 for single occupancy. To register, visit www.webercenter.org and click on “programs.” Registrations may also be made by contacting Weber Center at 517-266-4000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Weber Center is on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Motherhouse, 1257 E. Siena Heights Drive, Adrian. Enter the Eastern-most driveway of the complex and follow the signs to Weber Center. For information, call the Weber Center at 517-266-4000.
