Bishop Thomas has asked the faithful of the diocese to participate in periodic spiritual initiatives to intentionally combat the evil that has wounded victims of abuse, Christ and His Church. For the first of these, He has asked that parishes of the diocese offer extended hours of adoration on the Feast of the Exultation of the Cross (Friday, September 14th). He has asked for adoration, prayer, penance and fasting for the healing of the Body of Christ.  The intention for that day with be the healing of victims, the reform of the hierarchy and clergy and for the purification and holiness of the Church. On Friday September 14th, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 11am until 6pm at Marysdale. Deacon Scott will lead the Rosary at noon, the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3, Evening prayer at 4:30 and Benediction at 5:45. All are invited and encourage to spend some part of their day in prayer.

DIVORCED-SEPARATED MINISTRY

Please keep those attending the Summer series of the Rose Sweet video program "Surviving Divorce" in your prayers.  Plans are in the making for the video series to run again this Fall both in Hicksville and in Bryan.  Another Divorced-Separated Retreat is being planned for the beginning of 2019.  If you are divorced, separated, or just suffering from a bad break-up, and you would like to join our support community, join the DIVORCED-SEPARATED MINISTRY Facebook Group or contact us through St. Michael Catholic Church, Hicksville... leave a message at 419-542-8202 or email saintmichaelhicksville@gmail.com.  We welcome questions about annulments, what divorced/separated parishioners can still do in the Church, and where to get help.  Please pass this information on to anyone you may know who's divorced and in need of support.
