Now that classes have started, registration forms for any NEW students to our program need to turned in promptly. The forms can be found on the bulletin board in the entrance to church. Tuition payments for all students are also due at this time. Tuition is $25 per student for up to three in the same family-the fourth child or more is free. The tuition covers the cost of the books and shipping. Unpaid tuition is a great expense to our parish, so please pay promptly.

“Come Hold My Son” Parish Mission will be held at Immaculate Conception in Ottoville on Sunday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. This event promises to be an inspiring, life changing mission for all Parishes and communities, especially FAMILIES OF ALL AGES!  The presenter of this mission, Daniel Oberreuter, will make the Blessed Sacrament the main focus.  Inspired by the song he wrote, “Come Hold My Son,” he will take us on a journey through the mysteries of the rosary. It will be fun and upbeat. As he progresses, Daniel will reveal his soul through his testimony and his music. Join us at 5:30 p.m. at the gazebo next to church for free ice cream and entertainment before the mission. Visit the website about the mission or call the Parish Office at (419) 453-3513

With the recent release of test scores for the Ohio Achievement Tests (OAT), HCCS would like to inform you of how we compare to our local public schools.  Students in grades 3-5 are tested in English Language Arts and Math and students in grades 5 are also tested in Science. Our students on average out-perform our area school districts in these content areas.

OAT scores are just one of several ways to measure academic achievement. For schools with small class sizes, they are not a highly reliable tool, as averages become easily skewed.  Across the Diocese of Toledo, academic success is measured by the amount of growth a student achieves using the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) test. This test is recognized by the Ohio Dept of Education.  HCCS students hold a strong tradition of high MAP testing results. MAP testing for the current academic year will begin later this fall with results available by request in the spring 2019.

At HCCS, every student works with their teacher to establish academic goals throughout the year. These goals, or WIGS as we refer to them (Wildly Important Goals) are tracked and measured in each student’s personal leadership notebook. The habit of goal setting and tracking has empowered our students to lead their own education and experience greater academic success.

HCCS curriculum follows common core standards as established by the Dioceses of Toledo and is aligned with State of Ohio Content Standards. We proudly use “Writing City”, a Language Arts Program established for students to create, edit, and share digitally their writing. For more information on academics at HCCS, visit Better yet, talk to an HCCS parent or Alumni parent!
