 “AROUND OUR PARISH”

St. Mike's:

1. Please pray for the repose of Holly Garmyn and for healing for her sons Greg and Bill and all the family.  May she rest in peace. Amen.

2.  Thank you to all of the young people who helped serve at the parish breakfast recently.  Many people have told me how grateful they are for your witness and the blessing of sharing food after Mass.  Thank you to our parents and leadership in the parish family who helped make this happen.  God bless you all, Fr. Jake

St. Isidore:

1. Thank you to all who helped prepare the new concrete sidewalk to the east of the church at Delaware Bend.  You all did an AMAZING job.  You have helped so many people with your work.  Please note that the entrance adjacent to the Adoration Chapel will be under repair over the next few weeks.  It is our hope to be up and running soon on the sidewalk and entrance.

2.  Thank you to the youth who participated in the All Saints Party and this past Wednesday.  May your devotion to the saints continue to strengthen you in your witness to Christ, God bless you all, Fr. Jake

Bulletin Editor for the Parish of St. Michael’s Ridge

This is a rewarding position that comes with a sense of being a “bigger” part of your parish. Rather than simply warming a pew, this is your opportunity to be more involved with “your” parish, a chance to give back!

This is a paid minimum wage position as a member of the parish staff. The position requires approximately eight to ten hours per week, a home computer and minimal experience with Microsoft “Word” and “Excel”.

Interested applicants may simply submit a reply in an “enveloped letter” into the collection basket:

Attention: Fr. Jacob Gordon

FYI: Results from the St. Michael’s Ridge 4th quarter water sample that was collected on 10/28/19

came back NEGATIVE for Total coliform and NEGATIVE for E. coli.

PRAYER CHAIN NETWORK UPDATE

The St. Michael's Rosary and Altar Society ladies are trying to update our Prayer Chain Network list of names. Our current list was last updated in 2014. Since that time many of our parishioners have cancelled their landline phone service and only use cell phones. We need to update this information so that callers can get the messages out to the network members quickly. If you are currently on the network list please sign the sheet at the church entrances with any new information that we need to include on the new list. We need to know your name and the phone number that you would like to be notified at. If you are not a member but would like to be on the network please sign the list marking NEW beside your name and phone number. Our Prayer Chain Network is a wonderful way of supporting our parish family and friends. Thank you for your cooperation.

The St. Vincent De Paul Society of Defiance County seeks, in the spirit of justice, mercy and charity, to provide assistance to those less fortunate.  Volunteers from St Mary’s and St. John’s meet clients once a week to help them avoid eviction from their homes, disconnection of heat, water and electricity, and basic needs of life.  Most of us take these basic needs for granted, but they are a constant concern for many people in our county.  We also inform them about other agencies in Defiance County that offer classes on finances, culture, mental and spirit benefits so that they can gain stability and make a meaningful difference for themselves and their families.  Only thru contributions from individuals and business are we able to continue this ministry to help serve the less fortunate.  Your kind and generous giving is vital to our success in helping others in need.  If you choose to make a financial donation, you can make a check out payable to:  ST VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY and place in the offertory collection any Sunday.  Parish personnel will make sure checks are forwarded to St Vincent DePaul office at the St. Mary Parish Center in Defiance.

Thank you to the many parishioners who have donated to SVDP in the past.  Currently we have volunteers from St. Mary’s and St. John’s meeting with clients.  If you are interested in learning more about this ministry call 419-782-2776
