My Dear Parishioners,

I want to thank all of our wonderful parishioners for their encouragement & support. I am happy to say that on November 8 my bladder was healed enough so that they could remove the catheter and did not require carrying a bag around anymore. But the “down-side” of that is that I am incontinent and require learning the Kegel therapy.

Along with the trauma of major surgery, now I am experiencing depression & anxiety (panic attacks, memory problems, trouble finding words to say & racing thoughts in my brain) – I will be seeing my medical doctor for that condition on Nov. 14. There is sometimes a lot to deal with when recovering from a surgery such as radical prostectomy. It is not a quick recovery that I was hoping for. The surgeon said I needed radiation therapy after my body heals enough (in perhaps a month or more?)  That is to prevent any missed cancer cells from growing back again.

I am sorry that I am not able yet to have Mass during the week or on the weekends. I will try to evaluate my condition week by week.  I have found enough priests willing to cover for me on the weekends thru December – I pray that God may bless them and shower them with his love. I also wish to thank all of our parishioners for their prayers and kind words and thoughts during my recovery.

And God bless you for the delicious meals you provided for Anita & myself – that will help me regain the 15# I lost during the past few weeks.

I keep all of you in my prayers & in the many, many Rosaries I have said for your intentions.

May God bless you always!

Fr. Bob

For those who remember Sister Mary Lou who was Pastoral Associate here at St. Michael's Ridge some years ago, here is a “new address” for her "old friends"!

Sr. Mary Lou DeBauche

4030 Indian Road, #403

She would love to receive cards at this address. We recently visited, and this is just a beautiful, homey and warm, assisted living facility. Sister has been diagnosed with ALS, and would really like to hear from us! I hope you'll take the time to send her a note of encouragement.

Your Attention Please!

We will be conducting our annual fall cemetery clean-up beginning the week of Monday, November 19th as the weather permits. Please remove any items that you may want to be saved from all grave sites. This process should take approximately one week.(as weather permits)

Thank-you, your Cemetery Committee

St. Peter Parish in Archbold is pleased to invite you to join us on a pilgrimage to beautiful Italy. We have put together a wonderful opportunity to journey together in faith. Our pilgrimage will take us to Rome, Assisi, Montecassino and Pompeii. In each of these localities we will pray and celebrate the Eucharist as we explore the wonders of amazing Basilicas such as St. Francis and St. Peter. This pilgrimage is designed specifically as a reparation pilgrimage during this time of trial. We must come together as a family of faith and beg the Lord for forgiveness and to offer reparation for the sins committed by priests, bishops and any member of the Church, especially the depraved sins against children and the vulnerable. It is also a time to ask God to heal those who have been wounded by sin, to turn our own hearts away from anything that is evil and to renew our commitment to holiness. Whether you’ve been to Italy three dozen times, or this is your first trip abroad, this pilgrimage is sure to make memories of a lifetime. We promise you that it will also expand your knowledge of the Church and deepen your faith. We hope you’ll join us in journeying through one of the most beautiful countries on earth, and visiting the heart of the Catholic Church - Rome. You can download and print the itinerary on our website  or visit  to register.  If you prefer not to register online you may call Parvis Tours to register by phone: 1-810-644-5229 or send the registration form by mail. If you have any questions reach out to the Group Leader - Marianne Francis, at (419) 405-3229 or  or contact Parvis Tours directly 1-810-644-5229 or  It is our hope that we will all come together when our prayers are needed more than ever.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and year-end giving.

What is #GivingTuesday? Why does #GivingTuesday matter?

#GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media with the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners— nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness. As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.

What is HCCS doing for #GivingTuesday?

We are encouraging everyone who supports Catholic Education and HCCS to make a gift to our school, especially on  #GivingTuesday. If you follow HCCS on social media, you will see posts leading up to #GivingTuesday. A generous donor has pledged to match, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 in donations made in support of HCCS this Fall! How can you participate? Watch your mailbox for a postcard giving you the opportunity to donate, watch our Facebook or Twitter page for opportunities to support HCCS or simply send a gift to Holy Cross Catholic School, 1745 S. Clinton Street before the end of 2018. Thank you for your ongoing support.

* HCCS is looking for a Part Time maintenance worker. Hours are flexible. HCCS is a great place to work and every day is different! Position requires ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety including HVAC, plumbing and mechanical repairs. Some custodial responsibilities as needed. Call 419-784-2021 for an application.
