St. Michael Parish Religious Education Program

Our 2010-2011 Religious Education year will begin Sunday, September 19, for Grades 1 thru 6. (September 26, for Pre School, Jr. High and Sr. High.) Please register any NEW students to the program. May it be a great year, with special blessings from God. Registration forms can be found on the bulletin board in the main entrance at church.

This year's catechists are:

Pre-School

4 year olds and Kindergarten

Pre-school classes are in the church basement every Sunday during the 8:30 a.m. Mass, beginning Sept. 26.

Elementary classes begin in Church immediately after Mass every Sunday. Following singing practice the children continue class in school until 10:45. (See note about Children's Liturgies below. Classes begin September 19.

Youth Group Coordinators - Barb Weber, Tim & Tammie Rettig. All incoming 7th graders through seniors are invited to be a part of our youth group. Group members will kick off the year with a canoe trip on Sunday, August 29.

This year, Catechetical Sunday, September 19, 2010, will focus on the theme, "Matrimony: Sacrament of Enduring Love." Those who have been designated by the community to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.

CHILDREN'S LITURGIES will be on October 17, November 21, January 23, February 20 and March 20.   On these Sundays, the young people of our parish serve as lectors, ushers, and gift-bearers. Children in grades 1 through 6 sit in the front pews near the organ and lead the singing.  In order to prepare for this, all students hi grades 1 through 6 are asked to gather in the front of Church IMMEDIATELY after Mass each Sunday for a brief singing practice.
